Yes! I am such a fan of Citizen Juries…New Democracy do great work. I guess that means that, on those issues, Penrith City Council was well on the right side of the Curiosity-meter. Another approach I’m very interested in the Design Lab model… where members of the public, and professional staff, are involved in designing original solutions to problems. I know that CityRail have been doing some of the best work in Australia in that regard. Sometimes it’s not a matter of making a decision between existing options, but of creating, prototyping and testing original solutions. I’m adding prototyping into my workshops now, where participants actually develop and test their solutions in the workshop – that’s exciting me a lot.
