Was in a class the other day when a rather unpleasant middle aged female teacher spent most of the time with the DoJo creepy characters on screen and threatening to ‘remove’ DoJos for kids who did not perform properly. This, to 7 year olds.

One poor kid was singled out by her as having moved into negative numbers for DoJos. I was just shaking my head in disbelief.

The good thing was that actually the kids seemed to be well over any possible excitement with the DoJo acquisition mentality – most were not really listening to this Teacher as she rambled on. Incidentally this was at a ‘Trust’ school in the UK, i.e. one which had been wrenched from Local Authority control in order to ‘raise standards’.

With this kind of weird mind control technology – invented by some San Fran guy probably in search of a quick buck and early retirement – we seem to be more interested in indoctrinating and subduing kids. And I thought it was China and North Vietnam we were meant to be worried about – what a laugh!

It reminded me of the teacher in ’The Breakfast Club’ and the rewards/ penalties that a teacher with that mindset would apply.
It does concern me that many of the quick fixes that are so accessible via technology now do completely ignore history and scientific research.
Thanks for the list of guidelines – I’ll keep this article in mind if this shows up in my son’s school.
