Get Les !
Real-time project-based coaching

Sometimes you're too distant or busy to attend a 2-day training course. In that case project-based coaching backed by a comprehensive online project development/eLearning resource might be the solution.

Changeology Self-drive is an online project design system and eLearning resource that guides you through 7 action stages that you complete at a pace that matches your timetable. Reading and desk work are minimal: it's all about the actions you take and the gatherings you facilitate to develop a well-conceived, effective, change project.

And Les will be there, at each step (especially the tricky ones) to provide you and your team with detailed coaching, illumination and guidance, by email, phone or Skype.

You can use it to design a change project in any context, at any scale. For example:

  • a community water- or energy- saving project
  • a community health project
  • a workplace sustainability project
  • a sustainable farming project
  • a road safety project
  • an emergency preparedness project
  • a volunteering project.

What you get:

  • access to the complete Changeology Self-drive project design toolset;
  • the step-by-step project design template;
  • up to 5 hours coaching by Les Robinson (by phone, email, or Skype) as you develop and roll out your project.*

Cost, booking and access:

  • For community groups: $395 incl GST
  • For local government, funded orgs: $995 incl GST
  • For state agencies: email Les for a quote.

To book, just go to the booking page and book as if it was a workshop registration.

Note that access to the Self-drive site needs permission. When you and your project buddies go to the site you'll be presented with a "Request access" button. Just click it and I'll authorise you.

The buddy rule: Because it's always better to design with a buddy or team, the fee includes Self-drive access for up to 4 members of the same project team.

* The coaching kicks in automatically at each of the 7 stages of development, plus as you need it (see 'How it works' on this page).

Thank you, SESA: The support of The SESA Project is gratefully acknowledged in making this possible. SESA co-funded 16 project teams (mostly from local governments in NSW, Vic and SA) to pilot the self-drive process in late 2014. [SESA stands for Skilling Educators for Sustainability Australia, an Australian Government funded program.]

Changeology Self-drive is a comprehensive online resource that takes you through the process of designing a change project, step-by-step, down to the level of innovative tactics and persuasive messages.

You can use Self-drive:

- as a real-time project design system, where you develop a ready-to-launch project to tackle a real challenge;

- as a training course, where you learn the skills and tools to design change projects that are tailored, innovative and buzzworthy.

Self-drive uses same behavioural insights and proven rapid development tools as Les's in-the-flesh Changeology workshop.

How it works

Following an initial, detailed, telephone briefing, you (and your team) commence the Self-drive process at Stage 1. As you complete each stage, you forward your project design template to Les for feedback. When you come to a tricky bit, that's where additional coaching by phone or Skype kicks in. You can also ask Les questions at any time (and he promises a 48 hour turnaround on an answer!).

Stage 1) Purpose + scale. This lays your foundations.

Stage 2) Brains trust + theory of change. How you'll manage and create knowledge brilliantly (including devising your formative audience research).

Stage 3) Who has to do what? This crystallises your project.

Stage 4) Create an inspiring promise. The key to motivating your actors.

Stage 5) How you'll enable action. The core of your project.

Stage 6) Creative tactics. The fun bit.

Stage 7) The invitation. Your main message.

Along the way, you'll use an innovative step-by-step project design template that organises your design decisions in one place (and automatically generates your evaluation strategy).
